Your core mission is closing the gaps in how work gets prioritized, decided, and run across Build — reducing financial exposure, unblocking build velocity, and establishing continuity in how operations run. You'll manage a team of four and partner across the organization to drive adoption and alignment — restoring execution capacity on the work most critical to Finance and Build leadership, and building the visibility, operating rhythms, and enablement that help engineering and product move faster. As that operating picture matures, you'll extend it to go-to-market teams so every part of the company works from the same source of truth — one shared view, in consistent language — that levels the playing field and takes the guesswork out of what's shipping and when.

Our Commitment to Applicants

Culture and Values at Zapier

Zapier Guide to Remote Work

Zapier Code of Conduct

Diversity and Inclusivity at Zapier

About You
- Has been the operational backbone of an engineering or product org — restored execution on stalled work, stood up operating rhythms, and earned the trust of senior technical leaders.- Experience running cross-functional programs that span multiple teams or organizations, not just managing work within a single team- Proven ability to translate technical or engineering concepts into language and frameworks that non-technical audiences can use and own- Strong project and program management fundamentals: you're comfortable with project plans, milestones, dependency tracking, risk management, and change documentation- Ability to partner across functions and influence without relying on title — you can hold a room and drive alignment in complex settings- Comfort operating in ambiguity and fast-paced change; you thrive when scope isn't fully defined and you have to figure out the path- Experience securing buy-in and resourcing from senior stakeholders on programs that weren't yet fully scoped or understood- Familiarity with modern operations tools and the willingness to microlearn new systems; deep technical expertise is not required- Experience embedding AI into team workflows and processes, not just using it for personal productivity
Things You’ll Do
- Restore execution capacity on the P0 workstreams blocking Finance and Build leadership — take ownership, drive them to completion, keep them current.- Provide the operational layer the Build Org needs to execute strategy, and drive the prioritized work already published.- Design and socialize the operating model Build runs on — turning engineering-side architecture and rhythms into something teams actually adopt — and extend that shared framework to go-to-market so both organizations operate the same way.- Build, own, and scale the connected visibility layer — a live, auto-generated view of what's shipping, where work overlaps, and where ownership is at risk — starting in Build and extending across the business so every team works from one source of truth, in one language.- Own the dependency and primitive-ownership routing layer so cross-team requirements reach the accountable owner instead of dying in DMs.- Drive adoption through enablement — training, feedback loops, and continuous-improvement cycles — so change lands once, centrally, with adoption as a clear metric.- Partner with Build and GTM leadership to spot adoption gaps, clear blockers, and secure resourcing for the initiatives that matter most.- Build trust and durable relationships with Build's senior leaders; be the operational partner they rely on.- Secure headcount, stabilize the team, and shore up the platforms the org depends on.- Manage a team of four (an L4 TPM, two ops ICs, and a contractor); set direction and unblock their work.- Document operational decisions and trade-offs; write the proposals that win senior alignment and resourcing.- Identify and implement AI-powered tools and workflows to increase team efficiency and reduce manual overhead
How to Apply
At Zapier, we believe that diverse perspectives and experiences make us better, which is why we have a non-standard application process designed to promote inclusion and equity. Your team will own the day-to-day analytics interface for GTM leaders: funnel reporting, campaign performance, sales and support analytics, forecasting inputs, recurring business reviews, dashboarding, metric definitions, and urgent executive questions. This is a hands-on analytics leadership role. we're looking for someone who has deep analytics judgment, strong SQL skills, and real GTM domain expertise. You might come from a sales analytics, marketing analytics, revenue analytics, finance, or investment banking environment. You should be able to lean into advanced analytics, understand core statistical concepts, and guide work on experimentation, forecasting, or segmentation when the work calls for it, but the center of gravity is analytics leadership: trusted reporting, business partnership, analytical QA, stakeholder management, and building a faster, more consistent operating model for GTM data. That mission is funded by revenue — and every dollar of it flows through Revenue Zone. We build and operate the infrastructure behind billing, subscriptions, payments, pricing, entitlements, and checkout across everything Zapier ships: self-serve plans, enterprise contracts, and ecosystem offerings. When a customer upgrades, renews, changes plans, or pays an invoice, our systems make it happen — correctly, instantly, and at scale. We're hiring a Staff Engineer to own the technical vision and long-term architecture for Revenue Zone. You'll define the pricing primitives, service boundaries, and data models that let Zapier ship pricing and packaging changes in days instead of months — while keeping every dollar accounted for accurately. That means designing the framework and abstractions product teams plug into so they can launch new SKUs without becoming billing experts, building configuration-driven infrastructure for pricing experimentation, and ensuring the platform evolves without foundational rewrites. This is production-critical, finance-grade infrastructure where correctness is non-negotiable. You'll drive alignment across teams in a space defined by high ambiguity and competing constraints, working closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Sales. The role is particularly exciting because decisions here ripple across Zapier — shaping how the company monetizes its next phase of growth.

Our Commitment to Applicants

Culture and Values at Zapier

Zapier Guide to Remote Work

Zapier Code of Conduct

Diversity and Inclusivity at Zapier

About You

Proven engineering impact: You've driven outcomes in complex, production systems at scale — shipping projects that delivered measurable improvements in environments where requirements shifted under you. You fall in love with the problem, not your first implementation, and are willing to rethink or pivot when it better serves the customer and the business.

Cross-team leadership and proactive ownership: You've led technical initiatives that span multiple teams and operate with end-to-end ownership. You gather requirements, surface risks early, align stakeholders, and drive ambiguous problems through to measurable outcomes. You're a trusted partner to Engineering, Product, and Design leadership — helping shape roadmaps, translating business strategy into technical direction, and amplifying other engineers by raising standards and building durable foundations that create leverage across teams.

AI fluency: You use AI coding tools as a regular part of your workflow and have a point of view on where they accelerate delivery and where human judgment is non-negotiable. In a high-correctness domain like payments and billing, you know the difference between automating boilerplate and trusting AI with revenue logic — and you bring that judgment to the engineers you work with.

Comfort with complexity: You're at home in large, mature codebases — you know how to navigate a monolith, find the right leverage points, and make meaningful progress without waiting for a clean slate.

Things You’ll Do

Serve as a technical leader within the Revenue Zone: You’ll operate as part of the zone’s leadership team, partnering closely with Engineering, Product, and Design to shape strategy and roadmap decisions. You’ll translate business context into technical direction—and ensure engineering tradeoffs are clearly understood at the business level.

Shape the long-term platform vision: You’ll define and evolve the architectural direction of the Revenue Zone, balancing near-term delivery with long-term durability, extensibility, and operational excellence.

Lead high-impact technical initiatives: You’ll drive the strategic evolution of our monetization platform—decoupling billing from account systems, clarifying system boundaries, and consolidating pricing infrastructure. You’ll build flexible, configurable foundations that enable fast Pricing and Packaging experimentation and seamless launch moments across the customer lifecycle, while supporting clean, reliable data for Finance and Pricing & Packaging.

Own and strengthen revenue-critical systems: You’ll be responsible for systems across the Revenue Zone—Billing, Pricing, Payments, Checkout, and Entitlements—ensuring they are resilient, observable, and correct. You’ll raise the bar on proactive detection, safe rollback mechanisms, and revenue accuracy—catching issues before customers do. You’ll systematically reduce structural and technical debt, eliminate recurring operational pain points, and strengthen architectural foundations to prevent revenue-impacting incidents before they emerge.

Guide high-impact technical decisions: You’ll influence API design, data modeling, caching strategies, and system architecture—optimizing for scalability, developer experience, and rapid pricing and packaging iteration.

Partner deeply across Zapier: You’ll collaborate closely with Pricing & Packaging, Product, and Design teams to drive ARR growth and craft seamless, intuitive, and lovable monetization journeys for self-serve, enterprise, and ecosystem customers. You’ll also work with Support and Operations to ensure robust admin tooling and exceptional customer experiences across upgrades, billing changes, and subscription management.

Drive measurable improvements: You’ll identify performance bottlenecks and deliver optimizations that show up in the metrics—reduced latency, improved reliability, stronger customer experiences, and improved conversion and retention.

Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar: You’ll share patterns and tooling, conduct thoughtful code reviews, and grow engineering capability across the zone. You’ll be a go-to resource for engineers tackling complex monetization and platform challenges.

Champion documentation and developer experience: You’ll ensure our systems are well-documented and easy to adopt, reducing friction and accelerating development across the organization.

Application Deadline:
The anticipated application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later, or if the position is filled.Even though we’re an all-remote company, we still need to be thoughtful about where we have Zapiens working.
