Summary:
The FP&amp;A Manager will be responsible for leading and executing financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis across the organization, with a strong focus on supporting commercial and go-to-market initiatives. You will serve as a key finance business partner to commercial, sales, and marketing leadership, providing actionable insights and building scalable planning processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on mindset, capable of operating in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Budgeting &amp; Forecasting
<ul>
<li>Lead annual budget planning and quarterly re-forecasting processes.</li>
<li>Build dynamic financial models to support short- and long-term planning.</li>
</ul>
Commercial Finance Support
<ul>
<li>Partner with commercial, marketing, and sales teams to provide real-time financial insights and performance tracking (e.g., revenue, COGS, gross margin, ROI).</li>
<li>Develop and track KPIs related to product launch, customer acquisition, pricing strategies, and sales effectiveness.</li>
</ul>
Strategic Analysis &amp; Decision Support
<ul>
<li>Conduct scenario modeling, profitability analysis, and business case development to support commercial initiatives.</li>
<li>Deliver financial insights and recommendations to drive executive decision-making.</li>
</ul>
Reporting
<ul>
<li>Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for executive leadership and board meetings.</li>
<li>Monitor financial performance vs. plan and communicate key variances and risks.</li>
</ul>
Process Improvement
<ul>
<li>Build and optimize FP&amp;A tools, templates, and processes to support scale.</li>
<li>Drive automation of reporting and analytics to improve efficiency and accuracy.</li>
</ul>
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Certifications, Experience
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA a plus)</li>
<li>5–8+ years of progressive FP&amp;A or corporate finance experience, ideally with experience in life sciences, biotech, or healthcare</li>
<li>Experience supporting commercial or go-to-market teams strongly preferred</li>
<li>Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with FP&amp;A tools (e.g., Adaptive Insights, NetSuite, Tableau, Power BI) a plus</li>
<li>Strong business acumen with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights</li>
<li>Comfortable working in a dynamic, ambiguous startup environment with a “roll-up-your-sleeves” mentality</li>
<li>Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge:
<ul>
<li>Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.</li>
<li>Deep familiarity with biotech or life sciences industry financial drivers (e.g., R&amp;D spend, clinical trials, commercialization costs, revenue models).</li>
<li>Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and ability to collaborate closely with accounting teams.</li>
<li>Experience with SaaS or cloud-based finance tools (e.g., NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.</li>
</ul>
Skills:
<ul>
<li>Advanced financial modeling and data analysis in Excel (required).</li>
<li>Strong presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial data.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication.</li>
<li>High proficiency in PowerPoint, and the ability to create executive-ready presentations.</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy.</li>
