As the program matures, you’ll also help bring AI-assisted test generation and spec-driven development into our day-to-day workflow. This will be a high-ownership, high-leverage IC role. Your work will be felt by every engineer at Boulevard, every day. What you’ll do here: Own the stability and performance of CI across our frontend and backend repositories. You’ll drive success rates up, runtimes down, and help establish “no merge on red” as a cultural default rather than a negotiation. Hunt down flakiness. You’ll identify, triage, and fix the top sources of non-determinism in our test suites, and build the tooling that will make flake visible and attributable before it becomes noise. Establish Elixir unit and integration testing patterns. You’ll partner with backend engineers to define how we test service boundaries, write the reference implementations, and document the patterns so they scale beyond you. Optimize pipeline performance. You’ll improve parallelization, caching, and test ordering to deliver meaningful reductions in CI runtime across both frontend and backend pipelines. Build developer-facing tooling and dashboards that will surface CI health, test ownership, flake rate, coverage trends, and pipeline duration — making quality signal actionable for every team. Contribute to release readiness. You’ll help define lightweight, durable criteria for what “ready to ship” looks like, and wire those criteria into the pipeline. Bring AI-assisted test generation and spec-driven development workflows into our Elixir framework, starting with one service area and expanding based on what we learn. Fintech is a high-growth business area at Boulevard with dedicated executive leadership, as well as product and engineering support, within our broader R&amp;D organization. It accounts for a material portion of Boulevard's revenue and is a strategic investment area.
This PM role lives at the intersection of building what's next for Fintech, and making sure what exists scales under its own rapid growth. You'll partner with a second PM on this team, each dividing focus between net-new product development and the platform work that keeps Boulevard's financial infrastructure reliable at scale.
New Product Development in Payments, Capital &amp; Beyond Partner on the roadmap for emerging fintech products — Capital lending, new payment experiences, funds acceleration capabilities, and future financial products — translating early-stage capabilities into experiences customers can trust and adopt, and helping define what Boulevard's fintech surface area looks like next.
Point of Sale &amp; In-Person Financial Experiences Own the roadmap for how payments show up in physical, in-person moments for our customers, designing experiences that feel seamless at the front desk and scale across single, multi-location and franchise businesses.
Payments Reliability &amp; Financial Logic Own the roadmap for hardening the cross-service financial logic that spans Boulevard's systems — reducing coupling, driving continuous improvement in our shipping cycles, and building deterministic safeguards (e.g., duplicate charge prevention) that protect merchants and clients from costly errors.
Reconciliation &amp; Financial Controls Define and deliver canonical reconciliation reporting, automated settlement ingestion and validation, and exception alerting — closing the gaps that today require manual financial review as transaction volume scales.
Fraud &amp; Disputes Tooling Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Engineering to improve fraud monitoring and signal ingestion, automate dispute workflows, and reduce Boulevard's dependency on manual investigation as payment volume and complexity grow.

Boulevard is looking for a product-minded Senior Software Engineer I to build experiences and systems that power appointment-based businesses and the professionals and clients who rely on them every day. You'll work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to solve meaningful customer problems, taking ownership of technical solutions from design through production.
Our engineers work across a modern, event-driven platform with opportunities to specialize in frontend, backend, or work across the stack. We value strong engineering fundamentals over experience with any specific technology. Our backend is built with Elixir and PostgreSQL on AWS; our frontends use React and TypeScript; and GraphQL connects experiences across the platform. Prior Elixir experience is not required—we'll teach you.
