PagerDuty, Inc. (NYSE: PD) is the global leader in AI-first digital operations. By automatically detecting, diagnosing, and remediating issues, the PagerDuty Platform orchestrates AI agents and automated workflows with context from over 750 integrations. Trusted by approximately two-thirds of the Fortune 100 and nearly half of the Fortune 500, PagerDuty is the industry standard for organizations scaling resilient, autonomous operations. Notable customers include Chipotle, Cloudflare, Docusign, Fox, Nvidia, Salesforce, Spotify, Zoom and more. We are growing rapidly and hiring top talent with leading AI skills across engineering, sales, product, marketing, and beyond as we build the leading digital operations platform.

About the Role

PagerDuty is seeking a Principal Product Manager, Platform Security to own the strategy and execution of how we secure, harden, and defend our Operations Cloud platform. This role sits within our Product Development organization and reports to the Sr Director of Product, Platform & Partners.
This is a senior individual contributor role. You'll bring the same rigor to security that a great PM brings to a product: deep customer empathy, structured threat modeling, clear risk tiering frameworks, and a bias toward measurable outcomes. You'll also be the connective tissue between Product, Engineering, IT, and Legal, ensuring security strategy translates into engineering execution and customer trust. This role owns the full lifecycle from recommendation to implementation to operations. You'll be the decision-maker on risk acceptance, control exceptions, and incident escalation in real-time.
The ideal candidate has operated at the intersection of product management and security engineering in a later-stage B2B SaaS environment. You've owned security architecture decisions end-to-end, built security infrastructure, and have the credibility to influence both product roadmaps and engineering practices without formal authority.

What You'll Own

Product & Platform Security

Define and evolve PagerDuty's platform identity and security architecture — trust boundaries, authentication and authorization models, and secrets management frameworks

Admin experience and admin console for enterprise and security administrators

Build and maintain a security review process so product teams bring security into roadmap decisions early, not as an afterthought

Own the security platform roadmap

Provide security and secure-design leadership to other product teams across the portfolio

What You'll Build

This role owns a portfolio of platform security surfaces that includes:

Identity & Permissions platform — the authentication and authorization foundation for both human users and AI agents, spanning roles, scopes, and delegated access as agentic workflows become first-class actors on the platform

Security products — customer-facing capabilities such as IP Allow list and SCIM, extending the set of controls enterprise customers need to adopt PagerDuty at scale

Admin experience — the tooling administrators use to configure, audit, and govern their PagerDuty environment, with opportunity to improve clarity and self-service

Partner security and governance — the shared services, primitives, and audit surfaces that every partner team builds on

Partner with executive leadership to align security strategy with company-level trust and resilience targets

The opportunity is to bring these surfaces together into a coherent platform so security decisions and actions happen faster, customers can govern their own environments with confidence, and product teams have primitives they trust and actively build on.

Basic Qualifications

10+ years in B2B SaaS in roles spanning product management, security engineering, and/or platform security

Demonstrated experience owning security architecture and risk tiering decisions — not just supporting them

Track record of running security programs and measuring risk reduction impact

Strong cross-functional credibility with Engineering, Legal, Product, and Go-To-Market leadership

Experience managing security change in the field — migrations, re-architecture, new authentication and authorization models — with the communication skills to bring stakeholders along

Ability to mentor other product managers and raise the security bar across a product organization without direct reports

Preferred Qualifications

Experience at a company during transition to zero-trust or hardened multi-tenant isolation architecture

Familiarity with security infrastructure (IAM, secrets management, vulnerability and posture tooling)

Familiarity with B2B SaaS compliance frameworks, customer security review processes, and audit considerations

We are expanding rapidly as a platform for Digital Operations Management using AI/ML and Automation and growing our adoption by Development, IT, Customer Service, Security, and other teams across the organization.Overview We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Billing and Revenue Systems IT Product Manager to drive the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of our critical billing, revenue recognition, and order-to-revenue (O2R) systems. The ideal candidate brings 5–8 years of dedicated O2R experience, with deep hands-on expertise in Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue (RevPro), and a strong foundation in finance and subscription revenue operations. This role requires a candidate who understands the business impact behind every system decision — someone who can speak fluently in ARR, deferred revenue, and ASC 606 as comfortably as they navigate Zuora data models and API integrations. This position demands a unique blend of product management acumen, financial domain expertise, technical depth, and the ability to bridge Finance, IT, and Engineering teams. You will also serve as an early adopter and champion of AI-powered tools and automation to continuously improve the efficiency and intelligence of billing and revenue operations. You will partner closely with a Zuora Administrator who handles day-to-day operational work and support. Key Responsibilities Business Solutioning: Proactively identify and solve complex business challenges through benchmarking, competitive research, and stakeholder engagement across Finance, Sales, and Operations. Translate financial KPIs — including ARR, MRR, NRR, churn, and deferred revenue — into system requirements and deliver best-in-class solutions that incorporate emerging trends in subscription management and revenue recognition (ASC 606/IFRS 15). Requirements Translation & Execution: Transform high-level business and finance objectives into clear, actionable system requirements that guide design and implementation phases with precision. Ensure requirements account for revenue accounting impact, financial close timelines, and audit readiness. Zuora Subject Matter Expert (SME): Serve as the organization's primary authority on Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue (RevPro) — including product architecture, data models, custom objects, workflow configurations, rule sets, and integration points within the broader O2R ecosystem (Salesforce CPQ, NetSuite ERP). Stay current on Zuora roadmap releases and proactively assess impact to existing configurations. Finance & Revenue Operations Partnership: Act as the key systems partner to Finance, Revenue Accounting, and Revenue Operations teams. Develop deep understanding of how billing system configurations drive financial outcomes, including revenue recognition schedules, contract modifications, standalone selling prices (SSPs), and period-end close processes. System Design & Scalability: Partner with engineering and technical architects to ensure system designs are scalable, maintainable, and compliant with security and regulatory standards. Architect solutions that support business growth, new pricing models, and evolving revenue recognition requirements. AI-Driven Process Innovation: Identify and champion opportunities to leverage AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation to streamline billing operations, reduce manual effort, and workflow automation. Use generative AI tools to accelerate requirements documentation, testing, and knowledge management. Agile Development Leadership: Lead agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban), including backlog prioritization, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement and velocity. System Deployment & Quality Assurance: Oversee configuration changes, manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and ensure successful deployment of new features across Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue platforms. Define and maintain test scripts that validate financial accuracy and compliance. Change Management & User Adoption: Lead change management initiatives — including developing training materials, conducting user training sessions, and driving adoption of new features and processes. Communicate the 'why' behind system changes to Finance and Operations stakeholders to ensure buy-in and smooth transitions. SOX Compliance & Controls: Maintain and document SOX controls for billing and revenue systems, ensuring adherence to internal control frameworks and supporting audit requirements. Partner with Internal Audit to address control gaps and maintain a robust compliance posture. Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with Zuora and other key vendors, serving as the primary point of contact to influence product roadmaps, escalate issues, and leverage vendor expertise to drive business value. Risk & Delivery Management: Proactively manage project risks, resolve emerging issues, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery of all O2R initiatives. Priority Management & Stakeholder Relations: Effectively manage competing priorities by assessing urgency and business impact, making informed trade-off decisions, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships through transparent communication and expectation management. User-Centric System Design: Maintain a customer service-oriented mindset, keeping end users at the forefront of system design while balancing business requirements and technical constraints to deliver intuitive, efficient solutions. Basic Qualifications Experience: 5–8 years in IT product management, systems analysis, or similar roles focused on financial/billing systems within a SaaS or subscription business environment. Zuora Expertise (Mandatory): Deep, hands-on experience configuring and implementing Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue (RevPro), including subscription products, rate plans, discount schedules, billing rules, revenue recognition rules, performance obligations, and custom objects. Proven ability to architect end-to-end billing and revenue solutions, not just administer them. Finance & Revenue Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of SaaS subscription financial models and revenue metrics including ARR, MRR, NRR, churn, and gross retention. Deep knowledge of revenue recognition under ASC 606/IFRS 15, including contract modifications, variable consideration, standalone selling prices (SSPs), and deferred/unbilled revenue accounting. Ability to partner effectively with Revenue Accounting, FP&A, and RevOps teams. O2R Proficiency: Comprehensive understanding of the subscription lifecycle: Quote-to-Order, Order-to-Cash, Order-to-Revenue, Invoicing, Payment Processing, and Revenue Accounting — and how each stage affects financial reporting and compliance. AI & Automation Skills: Demonstrated ability to apply AI and automation tools to improve operational workflows. Experience using generative AI tools for productivity, documentation, or analysis. Ability to evaluate AI-powered solutions for billing operations (e.g., anomaly detection, revenue forecasting, contract intelligence) and make informed build-vs-buy recommendations. Technical Skills: Proficiency with relational databases, SQL/ZOQL queries for data analysis and reconciliation, and API-based system integration. Collaboration: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams spanning Finance, IT, and Engineering. Ability to translate complex technical concepts for finance audiences, and vice versa. Preferred Qualifications Zuora Certification: Zuora Certified Administrator or Zuora Certified Revenue Analyst/Developer. Integration Experience: Proven track record integrating Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue with major ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite) and CRM/CPQ systems (e.g., Salesforce CPQ), including data mapping, API design, and error handling. AI/ML Application in Finance Systems: Experience evaluating or implementing AI-driven enhancements to billing or revenue workflows — such as intelligent invoice generation, automated revenue allocation, predictive churn analysis, or natural language querying of financial data. Public Company Experience: Experience at a publicly traded company with direct ownership of SOX controls, audit support, and finance systems compliance processes. Revenue Intelligence Platforms: Familiarity with revenue intelligence or analytics tools (e.g., Clari, Gong, Salesforce Revenue Cloud) and how they integrate with core billing and revenue systems. Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or related field. Hesitant to apply? Tax Manager

Senior Security Engineer — Cloud Security (Platform Engineering, Kubernetes & Identity)

PagerDuty is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our Cloud Security team, part of Security Engineering within the CTO organization. This is a preventive, platform-focused role for a strong engineer: you'll build and operate security-focused systems at scale to protect PagerDuty's multi-account AWS environment and the Kubernetes platforms running on it, with deep responsibility across container security and identity & access management (and, ideally, cryptography and key management). You'll harden the platform, design least-privilege identity and workload identity, and — because we're a lean team without a dedicated SOC — you'll shape detection strategy for the domains you own (Kubernetes and identity) and hunt during incidents. We lean hard into AI to move faster, so you'll both use and build agentic solutions to streamline how the team hardens, threat models, assesses risk, and operates. You'll partner with 30+ engineering teams to unblock them securely, and since we own and operate what we build, your controls ship as code, get validated against real usage, and roll out without disrupting engineering — including across our FedRAMP footprint.
**This role will be require to work 2 days week from our Toronto, Ontario office**

What you'll do

Harden PagerDuty's AWS and Kubernetes environments against CIS Benchmarks, DISA STIGs, and FedRAMP Moderate (Class C) baselines across a multi-account, multi-org footprint — proving results through evidence, config-remediation tooling, and KPIs that track posture, identity, and encryption/PKI health so we know where we stand and where the gaps are.

Own Kubernetes and container security end to end — harden EKS clusters and the Istio service mesh against the CIS Kubernetes Benchmark, DISA Kubernetes STIG, and NSA/CISA Kubernetes hardening guidance, design and enforce Kubernetes RBAC and least-privilege workload identity (IRSA/pod identity), and drive controls for the container supply chain (image provenance, admission control, runtime policy).

Build and operate security-focused platforms, services, and automation at scale — using Python/Go, Terraform, and Kubernetes policy-as-code — that reduce manual work and let 30+ engineering teams move quickly and safely.

Own PKI and encryption standards across the environment — certificate lifecycle and management, KMS-backed key management and rotation, TLS/mTLS (including within the Istio mesh), and encryption-at-rest and in-transit requirements — and define the standards other teams build against.

Design and roll out Service Control Policy (SCP) guardrails and least-privilege IAM/PAM across dozens of accounts and multiple orgs.

Lean into AI to unlock efficiency and velocity — consume agentic tooling in day-to-day work and build lightweight agentic solutions that streamline repetitive security work: posture triage, threat modeling, risk assessment, incident enrichment and investigation, compliance-evidence generation, and detection tuning.

Shape detection strategy for the domains you own — Kubernetes/Istio and identity — authoring and tuning detections in our SIEM stack, defining what "good" coverage looks like for these domains, and threat hunting for container escape, lateral movement, anomalous mesh traffic, and identity or credential abuse.

Participate in the team's on-call rotation, triaging and dispositioning cloud and Kubernetes threat alerts and acting as Incident Commander during incidents — driving containment, blast-radius/exposure analysis, and post-incident review.

Partner closely with our AppSec and GRC teams — aligning platform controls with secure-development needs and translating hardening, identity, and encryption work into audit and compliance evidence.

Additional responsibilities

Mentor and guide teammates on platform, identity, and cryptography security practices, and contribute to roadmap and annual planning. At the senior end of this role, you'll help draft external- and auditor-facing communication and represent the team in cross-team planning.

Basic qualifications

Strong software engineering background — years building and operating production systems at scale, with the ability to design and ship security-focused platforms, services, and tooling as a developer (not just configure them). Proficiency in Python and/or Go (or similar) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

5+ years in security engineering with deep, hands-on expertise securing Kubernetes and containerized environments — EKS, Kubernetes RBAC, admission control (e.g., OPA/Gatekeeper or Kyverno), network policy, workload identity (IRSA/pod identity), container runtime/image security, and a service mesh such as Istio.

Deep expertise with AWS security services and least-privilege IAM/PAM — IAM family, Organizations/SCPs, Secrets Manager, KMS, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, and Config.

Ability to automate security controls as code (Kubernetes policy-as-code) and inform detection strategy in a modern SIEM (e.g., CrowdStrike NG-SIEM, Splunk), including threat hunting within your domains.

Experience with incident response and on-call, a builder's mindset toward AI/agentic tooling to accelerate security work, and a track record of scoping ambiguous projects and driving them to completion with high ownership.

Preferred qualifications

Hands-on expertise in PKI and cryptography — certificate lifecycle/management, TLS/mTLS, key management and rotation (AWS KMS or similar HSM/KMS), and encryption at rest and in transit.

Hands-on hardening to CIS Benchmarks and DISA STIGs within a FedRAMP (or similar) program; familiarity with NIST CSF, SOC 2, or ISO 27001; and experience partnering with AppSec and GRC teams to produce compliance evidence.

Experience building agentic or AI-assisted security automation, and familiarity with securing AI/ML or agentic workloads running on cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure.

Cloud-native security tooling such as Wiz (CNAPP/Threats) and CrowdStrike Falcon runtime protection; Azure security exposure (Entra ID, Defender for Cloud) a plus.

Demonstrated mentoring, strong written and verbal communication, and working knowledge of PagerDuty's Incident Management and Process Automation products.

Experience with brand systems or design ops tools

Familiarity with project management tools like monday.com
