UI/UX Research Intern

The Opportunity Be our first dedicated UX researcher and make an outsized impact.

You'll have the unique opportunity to establish user research practices from the ground up, uncover critical friction points through customer interviews, and deliver recommendations that will directly influence what we build next. This isn't a coffee-fetching internship—your research will shape real product decisions.   Over 3 months, you'll conduct 15-20 customer interviews, perform competitive analysis, synthesize findings, and deliver a prioritized roadmap of feature improvements.

You'll work closely with our Head of Product Design while having the autonomy to drive your research independently.   What You'll Do Conduct in-depth customer interviews to identify friction points and unmet needs Analyze user behavior using Qualtrics and Amplitude to validate interview findings Perform competitive analysis to identify market gaps and opportunities Synthesize research into actionable, prioritized recommendations aligned with business goals Present monthly findings to product, design, and engineering stakeholders Deliver a comprehensive final report that influences our product roadmap   Who You Are Currently enrolled in a graduate program (HCI, UX Research, Psychology, Cognitive Science, or related field) Strong foundation in user research methodologies—you know how to conduct interviews, synthesize findings, and translate insights into recommendations Highly independent and self-directed—you can manage ambiguity and prioritize without constant oversight Excellent communicator who can present complex findings clearly to different audiences Analytical thinker who can balance qualitative insights with quantitative data Portfolio or examples of previous research work (academic or professional)   Bonus Points Experience with B2B SaaS products or fintech Familiarity with Qualtrics, Amplitude, or similar tools Track record of conducting remote user interviews Knowledge of competitive analysis frameworks   What You'll Gain Real impact: Your research will directly influence product decisions, not collect dust in a folder Ownership: Establish research practices in an organization without a dedicated research team Portfolio gold: Ship professional research artifacts you'll be proud to show in interviews Mentorship: Work directly with our Head of Product Design and cross-functional leaders Industry exposure: Deep dive into complex B2B fintech problems Network: Build relationships and get strong references for your next role   The Details Duration: 3 months (12 weeks) Compensation: $30/hour Work Model: Hybrid with more in-office time during the first month for onboarding, then flexible Start Date: May 2026 (flexible based on your availability) Reports to: Head of Product Design   How to Apply Send us your resume, portfolio (or link to research samples), and a brief note about why you're interested in this role and what you hope to gain from the experience.
