What happens when you have fascinating clients with challenging problems on the one hand and passionate software developers looking to build future-focused solutions on the other? This in-between is where Business Analysts reside, acting as a bridge between the client and team. You will establish the outcomes software must achieve, assess how it will be used, and then generate bold ideas with our developers to create custom applications.
You will work with clients across a variety of sectors and ensure the business-critical software solutions we develop deliver real business value every time.*Thoughtworks Singapore will be shortlisting applicants who have a current right to work in Singapore, i.e. Singapore citizen or Singapore Permanent Residency (PR) only due to the nature of business.* Job responsibilities Understand a client’s business problems to build, maintain, and evolve product roadmaps that generate impactful, differentiating solutions.
Engage with and influence senior business stakeholders, facilitating discovery workshops to outline business vision, objectives, and value hypotheses for large-scale transformations. Apply an agile mindset to iteratively define release plans and drive the identification of "slices of value," ensuring work is delivered incrementally.
Liaise between the client and multidisciplinary teams—including SMEs, C-suite executives, developers, and architects—to manage the product backlog and advocate for shared outcomes. Assess the "as-is" situation and collaborate with clients to create high-value artifacts such as personas, epics, and stories within agile transformation teams.
Lead work breakdown and backlog refinement activities, including specialized Experimentation backlog management to navigate the R&D nature of AI projects. Lead the evolution of the analysis community by integrating Data Lifecycle Management and AI ethics into the standard agile toolkit while sharing knowledge on complex data discovery.
Evangelize 'Continuous Development' as it applies to evolving AI models and automated workflows, keeping a close eye on software delivery and team collaboration. Take accountability for tracking whether delivered solutions are achieving intended business outcomes and KPIs, while encouraging open communication and transparency.
Job qualifications Technical Skills Proven ability to work with stakeholders to understand business goals and identify where data, reporting, automation, predictive analytics, or AI can improve outcomes. Expertise in eliciting and documenting business, functional, data, and non-functional requirements, including reporting, dashboard, and semantic specifications.
Skilled in defining business processes and target-state workflows, translating complex business language into clear specifications for technical delivery teams. Experience shaping business cases and value hypotheses for data and AI initiatives, including the definition of KPIs and success measures through discovery workshops.
Ability to architect AI use cases, including user journeys, prompt engineering strategies, guardrails, human review points, and responsible AI considerations. Technical proficiency in mapping source-to-target requirements and data definitions to drive high-quality data products and downstream AI models. Expertise in documenting data lineage and metadata requirements to ensure the traceability and explainability required for AI decision-making.
Competency in identifying requirements for synthetic data generation or data augmentation when real-world datasets are insufficient or biased. Experience working with governance teams to clarify data ownership, privacy, and security while supporting UAT, change management, and business adoption. Professional Skills You enjoy coaching, have led a team and are an advocate for sharing knowledge with others. You have a knack for prioritization, obtaining buy-in from stakeholders and resolving conflicts as they arise. You’re resilient and flexible in ambiguous situations and enjoy solving problems from technical and business perspectives.
