Job Description

SeatGeek is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team with a primary focus on revenue accounting, close execution, and process automation.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced close environment and is equally excited about improving how close and revenue processes scale through automation, data, and AI-enabled tools. This is a hands-on individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting. You will play a critical role in executing the monthly close while also helping modernize revenue and inventory accounting workflows in a high-volume marketplace business.

What You'll Do

Own and execute revenue and inventory related close activities as part of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process Prepare, review, and reconcile close schedules with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and documentation Reduce manual close effort by identifying opportunities to automate reconciliations, journal entries, and large spreadsheet-based models Leverage data warehouse outputs and reporting tools to support close analytics, variance analysis, and tie-outs Ensure revenue is recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including complex and bespoke commercial agreements Support inventory accounting processes related to ticket brokerage activities, including cost recognition, reserves, and reconciliations Support audit requests related to revenue, inventory, and close processes Incorporate new products, business models, or commercial terms into existing revenue accounting processes Partner with Business Technology, Data, and Engineering teams to design, test, and implement automation solutions Support management to complete special projects and ad-hoc reporting Communicate regularly with your manager and teammates, providing proactive updates and surfacing questions early What you have 3+ years of accounting experience with significant hands-on close execution responsibility (Big 4 experience strongly preferred) Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, with an emphasis on revenue recognition Experience with marketplace, eCommerce, or inventory-based businesses is a strong plus Strong interest in automation, AI-enabled workflows, and process optimization Comfort working with large and complex spreadsheets, with a desire to streamline or replace them Familiarity with querying data warehouses and reading SQL.

Actual compensation packages within that range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
