POSITION SUMMARY:The Associate Director, Clinical Training – Women’s Health is responsible for leading the strategy,development, and execution of clinical training initiatives supporting the Women’s Health business unit. This role ensures the sales organization has a deep clinical understanding of Natera’s product portfolio and the clinical scenarios in which those products provide value.
The Associate Director partners closely with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Product, and Marketing leadership to ensure training programs align with clinical evidence, market dynamics, and commercial strategy. This role also provides leadership and development for the Women’s Health clinical training team and plays a key role in shaping the overall clinical education strategy for the sales organization.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:● Lead the strategic design, development, and execution of clinical training programs supporting theWomen’s Health portfolio for a national sales organization of 300+ professionals.● Oversee the creation and continuous evolution of clinical education initiatives including new-hireonboarding, product education, clinical selling skills, and ongoing professional development.● Direct the planning, strategy, and execution of clinical training programs delivered at majorcommercial events including the Global Sales Meeting, Business Unit Sales Meetings, and othernational training initiatives.● Lead the development and delivery of clinical product education programs delivered through liveinstruction, virtual learning environments, and hybrid training formats.● Ensure the sales organization is equipped to effectively communicate complex clinical conceptsand articulate the clinical value of Natera’s Women’s Health portfolio within real-world patientcare scenarios.● Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales Training, Product, Marketing, Medical Affairs, andCommercial leadership to align clinical training programs with product strategy, scientificevidence, and competitive positioning.● Monitor developments in the Women’s Health diagnostic and competitive landscape andincorporate relevant clinical insights into training programs.● Oversee development of training materials and digital learning assets including LMS modules,presentations, and clinical education resources.● Partner closely with the Associate Director of Sales Training – Women’s Health to ensure strongalignment between clinical education and sales training programs.● Engage regularly with field sales teams to assess clinical training needs, observe customerinteractions, and provide leadership-level guidance on clinical messaging.● Provide leadership and oversight for the Women’s Health clinical training team, includingcoaching, mentorship, and career development of team members supporting clinical educationinitiatives.● Evaluate the effectiveness of clinical training programs through performance metrics, fieldfeedback, and business outcomes, adjusting programs as needed to improve impact.● Partner with executive leadership to align training initiatives with key commercial KPIs andbroader organizational objectives.● Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required; background in medical or biological sciences stronglypreferred.● Advanced degree or certification in a relevant clinical field (e.g., Genetic Counseling) preferred.● 5 – 8+ years of experience in the Laboratory Diagnostics or Genetics industry, includingexperience in clinical education, field-based medical roles, sales training, or related commercialfunctions.● 2 – 5+ years in leadership or management. managing trainers, programs or cross-functionalinitiatives, preferably supporting a large commercial organization.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:● Deep clinical understanding of genetic testing, diagnostic workflows, and Women’s Healthclinical applications.● Strong ability to translate complex clinical concepts into clear, practical education for commercialteams.● Ability to translate clinical evidence into practical training programs that strengthen saleseffectiveness.● Ability to problem-solve and resolve challenges in a timely, professional manner.● Organized and able to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.● Demonstrated leadership capability with experience guiding cross-functional collaboration acrosscommercial and medical stakeholders.● Strong executive communication and presentation skills, including the ability to educate largefield audiences and present to senior leadership.● Expert understanding of adult learning principles and clinical education program design.● Strong organizational leadership and project management skills with the ability to managemultiple strategic initiatives simultaneously.● Expert-level presentation and facilitation skills.● Adaptability and strategic thinking in a rapidly evolving diagnostics and healthcare environment.● Advanced proficiency with training technologies including LMS platforms, virtual training tools,and sales enablement platforms.● Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:● Duties are typically performed in an office setting.● This position requires the ability to use a computer keyboard, communicate over the telephoneand read printed material.● Duties may require working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends) at times.
