Team The Development team at Mozilla Foundation drives the philanthropic support that fuels our mission to ensure the internet is a global public resource, open and accessible to all. The team builds meaningful relationships with individual donors, foundations, and partners who share our vision for a healthier internet.

As part of a newly formed and growing team, this role plays a key part in building the Foundation’s major giving program and expanding long-term, values-aligned funding. Job responsibilities Here are some projects you'll likely work on in your first 6 months: Building and refining a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors Developing tailored cultivation and solicitation strategies for high-capacity donors Partnering with program and communications teams to translate Mozilla’s work into compelling funding opportunities Collaborating with senior leaders to advance key donor relationships Helping shape the foundations of a scalable major gifts program As a  Major Gifts Officer at Mozilla, you will… Manage a portfolio of approximately 75–100 major gift prospects and donors Develop and implement relationship-driven cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans, and accurately track activity in Salesforce Secure five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts through direct solicitation and strategic relationship building Work closely with executive leadership and internal stakeholders to move donor relationships forward Prepare donor-facing materials including proposals, presentations, and impact reports tailored to donor interests Design and execute meaningful stewardship experiences and events for major donors Coordinate with program and communications teams to surface compelling stories and impact narratives Partner with prospect research to identify, qualify, and grow the major gift pipeline Collaborate with other fundraising teams to support pathways from annual to major giving Contribute to annual fundraising strategy, goal-setting, and performance tracking Analyze donor data with finance and development operations partners to inform strategy and improve results Take on other duties as needed in a dynamic, growing organization Your Professional Profile: 7+ years of experience in major gift fundraising, ideally within technology, advocacy, or public interest organizations Demonstrated success personally soliciting and closing six- or seven-figure gifts Proven ability to build and manage donor relationships from identification through long-term stewardship Strong relationship-building skills and comfort engaging with diverse stakeholders Ability to translate complex or technical concepts into compelling philanthropic opportunities Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal and presentation development Deep understanding of donor cultivation strategies and moves management Comfort using CRM systems and managing donor data Ability to work independently while contributing to shared goals in a remote-first environment Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in fundraising practices We Are Excited To See Any Additional Experience With: Existing networks within philanthropy or high-net-worth donor communities Global fundraising or international donor engagement experience Familiarity with digital rights, internet health, or technology policy issues Experience building or scaling a major gifts program in a startup or growth-stage nonprofit Salary and Benefits Information: Mozilla Foundation is dedicated to fair and equitable compensation for our staff.

We aim to pay a competitive and market-based salary based on the responsibilities and requirements of the role. We do not ask for, or take into account, salary histories in our offer process. The starting salary ranges for this role are listed below. These four countries are where we most commonly employ staff. Germany: €79,920- €89,845 UK: £66,225- £74,450 Canada: $137,970 - $155,104 US: $102,200 - $114,892 Some regions fall into a higher salary market and this is reflected in the example ranges below:  London: £82,782- £93,062 New York: $127,750 - $143,615 The range for your specific location will be discussed in screening conversations if your application is successful.
