Role Overview The Crash CAE Intern will support the Vehicle Safety and Structural Engineering teams by assisting in the development, simulation, and optimization of vehicle crashworthiness performance. This role focuses on running crash simulations, preparing high‑quality FE models, analyzing results, and helping integrate AI‑driven methods into the CAE workflow.
The intern will work closely with senior CAE engineers, test engineering, and cross‑functional design teams to accelerate the development of safe, lightweight, high‑performance electric vehicles. You Will: Build and preprocess FE models using ANSA/HyperMesh Run LS‑DYNA simulations (frontal, side, rear, pedestrian) Post‑process and interpret crash results Support CAE–to–test correlation activities Automate CAE workflows using Python/MATLAB Assist with surrogate modeling, ML datasets, and early‑stage optimization studies Document results for engineering reviews Gain experience with full‑vehicle crash CAE for EV platforms Gain exposure to lightweight structures and safety engineering Gain experience with AI‑enabled CAE workflows Receive mentorship from experienced crash engineers You Bring: LS‑DYNA crash simulation experience ANSA and/or HyperMesh proficiency Basic CAE automation (Python/MATLAB) Interest in ML, surrogate modeling, or inverse design Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills At Lucid, we don’t just welcome diversity - we celebrate it!
