CLX Car Advocate, Appraiser

We are looking for an experienced CLX Car Advocate, Appraiser to join our fast-paced team and growing car insurance product!

Specializing in Car, physical damage claims, you’ll use your investigative skills to help us settle losses quickly and efficiently, surpassing customer expectations along the way. You’ll leverage your deep automotive knowledge and sharp interpersonal skills to explain repair processes, without relying on illogically complex insurance jargon.

In this role you’ll

• Investigate physical damage claims

• Virtually inspect vehicles to assess damage caused by losses

• Create detailed, itemized repair estimates and cost reports

• Use estimation software (like CCC ONE, Mitchell, and Audatex) to calculate parts, labor, and material costs

• Determine whether OEM or alternative parts should be used

• Negotiate repair pricing and techniques with shops and customers

• Determine total loss eligibility and salvage values

• Document claim activity and communicate estimates clearly to repair shops and customers

• Settle physical damage claims within limits

• Stay up to date on industry standards, vehicle repair technologies, and insurance regulations

What you’ll need

• 2+ years experience in auto estimating and total loss evaluation

• Bachelor’s degree, required

• Strong negotiation skills

• Proficiency in a computerized estimating platform (CCC, Mitchell, Audatex)

• Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets

• A background in claims processes and workflows, a plus

• You’re an all-around team player who learns fast, enjoys solving problems, and loves to get things done!

• Ability to work in a remote environment

Lemonade's US base salary range for this full-time position is $60,000 - 72,000 plus equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
