Job Description
The Associate Director, Growth Optimization drives sustainable growth by spearheading the audience strategy, Ad progression and performance optimization for core marketing channels. This role owns the strategic vision and operational execution of the Growth Optimization team, with a clear focus on advancing first-party data utilization, accelerating acquisition and conversion performance, and maximizing the efficiency of our marketing spend.
This role demands a strategic owner to spearhead key growth initiatives through data-driven decision-making and cross-functional leadership, ensuring global alignment while maximizing ROI and operational efficiency. The individual contributes to: Improving how efficiently we acquire and convert customers at scale Making better and more consistent use of first-party data across marketing and Ad Progression Building and leading a strong, high-performing team with clear ownership and impact Making growth work more consistent and effective across all marketing channels Strengthening alignment across marketing, product & tech teams Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing Growth Optimization team across Audience Strategy and Ad Progression, fostering a culture of strong ownership, clear priorities and continuous improvement Own and drive the overall Growth Optimization strategy and set clear objectives focused on improving acquisition efficiency, conversion and marketing ROI Shape and influence the roadmap and priorities of partner teams, including Paid Marketing, Product, Tech and Analytics, ensuring alignment with company goals Work closely with Product, Marketing, AdTech and other relevant teams to ensure cohesive strategies and strong business impact across all channels Drive data-based decision making across growth initiatives by reviewing performance results and using insights to adjust priorities and direction Oversee audience strategy, experimentation and ad progression initiatives to ensure continuous improvement of acquisition and conversion performance Ensure strong ownership and clear standards for KPIs, reporting and performance reviews across the Growth Optimization scope Turn learnings from tests, performance analysis and market feedback into clear actions and lasting improvements Ensure the team is building solutions that scale across markets and not only local or short-term optimizations Stay up to date on industry trends, tools and best practices to keep HelloFresh competitive in performance marketing and growth optimization Work closely with Marketing leadership to contribute to the overall marketing strategy and long-term growth direction of the company Requirements: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in growth, performance marketing, CRO / Ad Progression, audience, or related roles, preferably in a data-driven or performance-focused environment Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a complex, cross-functional organization Strong understanding of performance marketing, acquisition funnels, conversion optimization and how to use data to improve them Very good ability to work with data, Customer Data Platforms, performance metrics and experiments to drive decisions and set priorities Experience working closely with Product, Tech and Analytics teams on shared goals and initiatives Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
