Through our Speaker Series, Intern Buddies, Employee Resource Groups, and other events, you’ll have the opportunity to meet and learn from some of the best in the business.  This is a full-time, paid internship based out of our headquarters in San Francisco, CA., OR San Ramon, CA. This role is hybrid. 3 days a week (M, W, TH) in office is required.

We are a group of skilled professionals passionate about leveraging our collective expertise to reimagine and implement an innovative governance framework. This framework balances our regulatory obligations and business risks without compromising our ability to scale, ensuring that we support the international regulatory obligations placed on Five9 and our sophisticated, complex, and internationally diverse customer base.  We foster a culture of mutual growth and knowledge sharing, working together in a dynamic and fast-paced  Responsibilities GRC Implementation Support: Assist in the build-out and operationalization of Five9's Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) programmed, including control mapping, evidence collection workflows, and framework alignment across regulatory obligations (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HIPAA).

Vendor & Third-Party Risk Management: Support the vendor risk management lifecycle — from intake and risk tiering through due diligence, control assessment, and ongoing monitoring — ensuring third-party relationships align with Five9's security and compliance requirements. Process Analytics: Collaborate with the Compliance & Privacy team to identify and document controls embedded within existing business processes, developing a working understanding of the scope and interdependencies of our operations.

Innovative Problem Solving: Apply analytical skills to interpret regulatory compliance requirements, distilling complex obligations to their core intent and translating them into actionable controls. Process and Control Redesign: Assist in designing and implementing streamlined business processes, controls, and policies that deliver demonstrable risk reduction and operational value.

Collaborative Projects: Partner with experienced managers and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure solutions align with business objectives, user needs, and regulatory requirements. Governance and Compliance: Support the implementation of robust governance and control measures, with a focus on data governance, security, and privacy best practices.

Qualifications

Rising college senior or above, pursuing a degree or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Business Compliance, Data Privacy, Telecommunications, Political Science, Legal, Finance, or a related field. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate insights and complex information clearly and persuasively.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail. Proficient in using analytical tools and familiar with process mapping and design methodologies. Awareness of the significance of governance frameworks and controls in ensuring compliance and effectively managing enterprise risks. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with diverse cross-functional teams.

Must be able to work out of either our San Francisco, CA., office or our San Ramon, CA., headquarters this summer. This is a full-time, paid internship based out of our headquarters in San Ramon, CA.
