Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Global Voice Engineering organization. In this role, you will be a key engineering leader in India, responsible for building and leading a high-performing team that owns mission-critical real-time voice services and features.

You will collaborate closely with global engineering, product, and operations teams to deliver scalable, high-quality voice solutions at a regular release cadence.

Key Responsibilities

Build, lead, and grow the India-based Voice Engineering team for Five9 Hire, mentor, and develop top engineering talent while fostering a culture of technical excellence and ownership Partner with global engineering teams to deliver features and improvements on a predictable, high-quality release cadence Plan and prioritize work, estimate timelines, and ensure execution against commitments Lead research and development initiatives to identify new technologies, architectures, and process improvements; incubate ideas and drive global adoption Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Operations, and other Engineering teams to align on goals and execution Clearly distill and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders Ensure engineering best practices around scalability, reliability, performance, and continuous delivery Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field 3+ years of people management experience, managing teams of 4+ engineers 5+ years of hands-on experience building real-time voice systems using C++ Proven ability to recruit, inspire, and develop strong engineering teams while earning trust and respect Demonstrated track record of delivering scalable, high-quality systems in a continuous delivery environment Solid understanding of modern software development best practices, including Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines Preferred Qualifications Strong domain expertise in real-time communications, including SIP/SDP, RTP, and ASR/TTS integrations, with emphasis on call control Proficiency in modern C++ (C++17 or later) Experience designing and building distributed systems and distributed state machines Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure  Five9 embraces diversity and is committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills.
