The Role

  As a Senior Technical Program Manager focused on Gemini’s coding capabilities, you will define the strategic roadmap and optimize the delivery of our cutting-edge models' coding capabilities. You will navigate undefined territory to align senior stakeholders and drive programs that have organization-wide impact.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Program Leadership: Scope and implement complex, often undefined technical programs for model development, balancing near-term deliverables with long-term strategic goals. Cross-Functional Influence: Partner and strategize with senior leadership across research, engineering, and product teams to ensure alignment on differing objectives and drive seamless delivery of models.

Technical Roadmapping: Develop technical roadmaps and white papers alongside engineering stakeholders, providing data to influence technical decision-making across the organization. Operational Excellence: Build and implement innovative, scalable solutions that improve operational effectiveness, proactively identifying process breakdowns and responding dynamically to change.

Advanced Execution: Enable cross-functional teams to advance state-of-the-art research by identifying trends, breakthroughs, and challenges that inform strategic thinking.

About You

In order to set you up for success as a Senior Technical Program Manager at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience: Significant experience leading complex, undefined technical programs (e.g., 8+ years), with a strong track record of navigating fast-paced environments to deliver organization-wide impact.

Experience partnering with senior leadership, confidently communicating challenges and risks while proposing new solutions and influencing stakeholders with differing objectives. Advanced technical understanding of language models and software engineering, with the ability to distill sophisticated technical ideas for broad audiences and influence technical decision-making.

Demonstrated ability to build and implement innovative governance models and workflows that enhance efficiency and scalability within development teams. Passionate about AGI, with a proactive approach to acquiring advanced domain knowledge to enhance your impact across evolving areas. In addition, the following would be an advantage: Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.

Substantial Software or Test Engineering experience. Advanced knowledge and understanding of state-of-the-art model development techniques. The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $183,000 USD - 271,000 USD + bonus + equity + benefits.
