The Role

Key responsibilities:  Design experiments and evaluations to improve Gemini’s SWE capabilities Create evaluations to measure key software engineering capabilities.

Responsibilities

may include creating evaluations to measure Gemini’s capabilities as a software engineer, running RL experiments to improve them, and designing novel agent harnesses & agentic capabilities.  Build infrastructure components necessary to facilitate research. Work with a cross-functional research & infrastructure team.   In order to set you up for success as a Research Engineer at Google DeepMind,  we look for the following skills and experience:  Requirements:  Understanding of LLMs & recent RL methodology  Experience running ML experiments  Experience developing LLM-based agents In addition, the following would be an advantage: Systematic thinker and engineer who find joy in traversing the full stack.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $147,000 USD - 211,000 USD + bonus + equity + benefits.
