Reports To Sr, Manager, Mechanical Design Engineering What You Will Be Doing The Mechanical Design group is seeking a Mechanical Design Intern to join our team.

As a member of the Mechanical Design Team you will be a driving force of innovation and helping build the future of electric vehicle charging.

What You Will Bring

to ChargePoint As a Mechanical Design Intern, your responsibilities will include the full range of the product design process: Design of prototype parts, test fixtures Design of experiments and engineering validation testing Documenting test results in reports and presenting findings to the broader organization Prototype assembly Creation of engineering documentation in the form of drawings and bills of material Root cause and failure analysis Requirements Actively enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field (Aero, Mechatronics and Thermal concentrations considered) 3rd year student or beyond with at least 2 prior internships Prior Experience As an intern, lab assistant, teaching assistant, etc Involvement at a deep level in a relevant student design project like SAE Formula-E, Solar Car or Solar Decathlon At least 1 year experience with Siemens NX CAD in prior internship Experience with shop tools Excellent, professional communication skills Knowledge of heat transfer Knowledge of basic electrical circuits Ability to perform basic stress/strain analysis Availability to commit to a full-time internship in a fast-paced professional environment Local applicants preferred as relocation assistance is not offered ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.  The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $25 to $30.

This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable.
