About the team and position The Tax Manager, Income Tax will lead the company’s federal and multi-state income tax compliance function, with a primary focus on partnership and corporate taxation.
This role is responsible for overseeing the preparation, review, and management of complex income tax returns, including Forms 1065, 1120, and related state filings across approximately 50 states. The Tax Manager will ensure accurate reporting of taxable income, book-to-tax adjustments, apportionment, and partner capital and tax basis calculations, while coordinating estimated tax payments and extensions.
This role will work closely with accounting and finance teams and manage external tax service providers to ensure timely, accurate, and well-documented filings. The position also supports the ASC 740 income tax provision process to ensure alignment between compliance and financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with public accounting experience to transition into a highly visible role with ownership of compliance processes and meaningful interaction with cross-functional teams and leadership.
What you’ll be doing Lead and manage federal, state, and local income tax compliance for partnership and corporate entities. Review complex partnership and corporate income tax returns, including Forms 1065, 1120, and multi-state filings. Oversee and manage external tax service providers, including reviewing returns, coordinating timelines, and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Prepare and review tax workpapers supporting taxable income, book-to-tax adjustments, apportionment, and partner/shareholder reporting. Coordinate and review quarterly estimated tax payments, extensions, and related compliance filings. Research, analyze, and document technical tax positions and filing positions. Monitor federal and state tax law developments and ensure compliance with new and changing requirements.
Manage and support federal and state income tax audits, notices, and information requests. Maintain organized and audit-ready tax compliance documentation and workpapers. Manage the company’s unclaimed property compliance process. Support the quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provision process. Review book-to-tax differences and ensure consistency between provision and compliance reporting.
Assist with tax account reconciliations and provision workpaper preparation. Support external financial statement audits related to income taxes. What you should know/have 6+ years of income tax accounting experience with private industry and/or public accounting Bachelor’s in accounting is required, Master’s degree in Accounting or Tax is preferred CPA license or actively pursuing is preferred Strong understanding of partnership taxation, corporate taxation, and multi-state compliance Partnership tax experience is a plus Experience with ASC 740 reporting for quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with US GAAP is a plus Experience with large, complex partnership structures a plus Experience with tax research tools RIA Checkpoint, BNA and/or CCH Experience with Oracle Fusion and\or Oracle tax fixed assets is a plus Strong understanding of Tax and GAAP accounting principles Supervisory experience is a plus Strong written and oral communication skills required Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly in Excel Experience with Alteryx a plus Ability to gather, organize and analyze data Strong problem solving and analytical skills What we’ll offer in return Full-Time Salary Position with a competitive salary.
