About the Team
The mission of the Hosted Display team is to develop and maintain small, fit-for-purpose components that provide a seamless user experience on client websites. The team serves thousands of Bazaarvoice clients who prefer Hosted Display solutions for display and collection of user-generated content (UGC).
How you’ll make an impact:
Architect and scale new display applications for collecting and displaying various forms of consumer-generated content at a massive scale.
Lead the design and development of client-facing tooling to configure consumer applications and interact with Bazaarvoice services.Act as the primary technical interface with backend, product, and design teams, spearheading discussions to define optimal API requirements and architectural integration points.
Author and review technical design documents, collaborating with Principal Engineering Committee (PEC) members and other stakeholders to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
Own, improve and enforce application quality & performance, with a deep understanding of web performance for both desktop and mobile, user accessibility (ADA), establish effective monitoring and proactively reducing technical debt.
Effectively build, cache, and serve our client-customized applications for thousands of clients to serve millions of consumers, with a strong focus on security best practices.
Mentor and guide fellow engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving.
The must have skills that matter:
You have 8+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong track record of working on large-scale web applications.
You possess a strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, especially data structures, algorithms, and design patterns with modern front-end technologies, including JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Web Components.
You can demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of system design and can architect solutions for complex problems.
You understand what it takes for a browser to obtain and execute JavaScript, and you have deep knowledge of web performance and security principles.
You know how to build functional, readable, and maintainable code, and you understand how to break large, abstract problems down into smaller, workable tasks.
You have experienced the challenges of third-party JavaScript application development and have shipped bullet-proof, tested code that works in a wide range of runtime environments.You are committed to excellence.
When you think of building web applications, you think past the console to the Ticketing (Jira), Source Control (Git), CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment e.g: GitActions, Jenkins) pipeline and Observability systems.
Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, particularly with CDN (Cloudfront) and compute services (ECS, Fargate), Java, Node.js, Express, or Nuxt.js.
