Your Impact Axon is building a unified, AI-driven public safety platform spanning body-worn cameras, in-vehicle systems, sensors, drones, and cloud-connected edge devices.
The Vice President of Connectivity & Wireless will establish and lead Axon’s Wireless & Connectivity Center of Excellence (WCoE), with end-to-end accountability for all wireless technologies that power mission-critical, officer-facing systems. This executive will own the architecture, execution, reliability, and evolution of connectivity across Axon’s device ecosystem, ensuring deterministic performance, regulatory compliance, and seamless integration with Axon’s AI and cloud platforms.
This role reports to senior engineering leadership and operates as a platform owner across product lines. What You’ll Do Work Location: We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation.

Reports to: SVP, Connected Devices Key Responsibilities Own Axon’s end-to-end wireless strategy and roadmap across Cellular (LTE/5G/FirstNet), LMR (P25 and related), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, UWB, future private networks and more.
Establish and lead a Wireless & Connectivity Center of Excellence, providing shared architecture, RF design, validation, certification, and field-performance ownership across all device programs Define AI-aware connectivity architectures supporting real-time video, audio, telemetry, and latency-sensitive edge inference Drive multi-radio coexistence, reliability, and redundancy in RF-hostile public-safety environments (on-body, in-vehicle, urban, rural) Own carrier engagement, standards participation, and regulatory compliance (FCC, PTCRB, GCF, FirstNet, global equivalents) Partner deeply with device, cloud, AI, security, compliance, and manufacturing teams to deliver platform-level outcomes Lead vendor and chipset strategy, including make/buy decisions, cost optimization, and long-term silicon partnerships Be accountable for field performance, incident response, and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle Experience & Qualifications 10+ years leading wireless engineering organizations with hands-on depth in RF systems, antenna design, EMC, and coexistence Proven ownership of end-to-end wireless stacks: hardware, firmware, OS integration, and system validation Experience scaling wireless platforms across multiple products or ecosystems, not one-off devices Knowledge and/or experience with LMR technologies (e.g., P25, TETRA, DMR, analog/digital hybrids) Understanding of public safety, defense, or mission-critical communication requirements in reliability, latency, coverage, Interoperability and regulatory and certification constraints (FCC, regional standards) Knowledge and/or Experience integrating LMR alongside LTE / 5G / Wi-Fi / Bluetooth in a single device or platform Demonstrated success managing multi-radio coexistence in dense RF environments Track record of resolving real-world field failures, including customer escalations and carrier or regulatory issues Comfortable partnering with product, cloud, security, and compliance teams Led large, cross-functional engineering teams (HW, FW, SW, QA, manufacturing) with ownership of roadmaps, strategy, make/buy decisions and vendor and chipset partnerships Experience shipping high-reliability, regulated hardware products on real timelines at scale Benefits that Benefit You Competitive salary and 401k with employer match Discretionary paid time off Paid parental leave for all Medical, Dental, Vision plans Fitness Programs Emotional & Mental Wellness support Learning & Development programs And yes, we have snacks in our offices Benefits listed herein may vary depending on the nature of your employment and the location where you work.
