How will you make an impact in this role? The VP GFO - Intercompany (IC) and Operating Expenses (OpEx) Accounting COE team is responsible for managing the AXP Legal entities IC Charge out accounting, Investment Equity process and Net Income Pick up accounting, OpEx accounting and Accruals for certain processes and support Business Unit accounting for certain groups.

The VP role based in Bengaluru will provide site leadership to ~200 colleagues. The leader will be responsible for driving the talent agenda for our growing footprint in the market, coaching and supporting colleagues, formulating strategies for engagement, L&D and training with an emphasis on Ai. Ai will be at the centerpiece of a variety of programs this leader will design, develop and execute on.

They will also partner with the BLT (Bangalore Leadership Team) to surface and solve for key priorities in the location. This role collaborates with the Legal Entity and Market Controllers, Tax team, ICA SLA COE, Bank Affiliates, Segment Controllers, and many other teams across finance to evaluate the impacts that new products, transactions, restructuring, M&A deals have on the Intercompany flows, Investment Equity and OpEx accounting.

Additionally, the role will partner with Technology and TM1 establish a charge-outs automation roadmap and governance. This role reports into the VP, Head Global Financial Operations and the team sits within the Controllership organization in India. · Lead, inspire, and scale a high-performing organization of 70+ colleagues across Bengaluru and Gurugram. · Provide strategic leadership to the Finance team at Bangalore, crafting talent strategy, develop and execute on developing talent · As a member of the Bengaluru Leadership Team and site lead for the Bengaluru Finance organization, help shape the center’s vision, driving alignment with enterprise goals, and fostering cross-functional collaboration and a high-performance culture. · Help shape our approach to Ai adoption, collaborating with various BUs and the cross functional talent available in Bangalore, sharpening our focus and speed. · Partner closely with the India Finance leadership to execute strategic priorities and transformation initiatives, driving sustainable business outcomes. · Manage relationships with IAG, PWC and other external auditors. · Provide executive-level communication of complex accounting matters to senior leadership and stakeholders. · Strong partnership with Transfer Pricing Tax team in designing new IC flows · Build cross-functional partnerships outside of Finance with Bank affiliate team, IC SLA COE. · Leverage accounting expertise to support critical Company initiatives Minimum Qualifications · Strategic thinking and enterprise mindset · Strong technical understanding of US GAAP · Basic understanding of AMEX upstream source accounting systems · Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills. · Proven ability to build, maintain and leverage relationships across the organization. · Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail. · Demonstrated ability to drive change, including process and control enhancements. · Agile mindset – positive, can-do attitude with the flexibility to adapt. · Ability to thrive and succeed in a fast paced, dynamic environment. · Leadership – motivate and develop colleagues, make decisions quickly and influence change · CA / MBA with 15+ years of post-qualification experience
