The Difference You Will Make: As a Senior Risk Functional Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational procedures and escalations related to stored value payment products (e.g. gift cards) and the review of performance metrics for business and vendor feedback.
You will work closely with operational stakeholders and cross-functional partners to enact change to improve our products and processes. You will consistently demonstrate excellent decision-making skills as you solve a wide range of complex problems. You will be expected to understand and apply Airbnb core values in all of your work.
Your Impact
will span: Transaction security across all Airbnb products and services Risk policy support to build trust in our platform User verification and onboarding experiences that balance security with seamless user journeys Fraud detection systems that evolve as quickly as the threats they combat Operational excellence that keeps our community safe while maintaining the hospitality that defines Airbnb A Typical Day: Protect our community by reviewing and making exceptional decisions for platform exemptions to maintain trust and safety across Airbnb Own incident resolution of risky pay-in procedures from escalation to closure, ensuring swift and thorough case management that protects our hosts and guests Navigate complex operational issues by partnering with Legal, Public Affairs, and other teams to respond to regulatory inquiries related to fraud and criminal activities Tell the story through data by drafting business requirements and concept briefs that highlight key operational needs for platform development Your Expertise: Minimum of 3+ years professional experience in fraud, abuse, or cybercrime investigations Minimum of 1+ years professional experience related to stored value risk (e.g. gift cards, coupons, credits, incentives) Detail-oriented, highly analytical, and strong project management skills Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues Strong ability to gather information from various internal sources Capacity to draw actionable insights from dashboards and reports Risk policy creation and/or administration experience Basic SQL Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g.
Tableau, Superset) CFE or equivalent certifications Your Location: This position is US - Remote Eligible.
The Role
may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. How We'll Take Care of You: Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits. Pay Range$82,000—$96,000 USD
