The Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB) values the power of personal networks and recognizes that great talent often knows great talent. To support our mission of advancing biological research and knowledge, we offer a Referral Bonus Program for successful hires through employee referrals. This program is designed to attract top-tier professionals, particularly in tech and product roles, but also extends to various other positions within the organization.

Referral Bonus Details

Eligibility

• Who Can Refer: All current SIB employees are eligible to participate in the referral program.
• Who Can Be Referred: Candidates for open positions across SIB, with a focus on tech and product roles such as software developers, data scientists, bioinformatics specialists, and product managers. Other roles may also be eligible, subject to current hiring needs.

Bonus Structure

• Tech/Product Roles:
  • Successful hire of a referred candidate in a tech/product role (e.g., Software Developer, Data Scientist, Bioinformatics Specialist):
    • Referral Bonus: CHF 2,000
• Other Roles:
  • Successful hire of a referred candidate in other roles (e.g., Administrative Staff, HR, Finance):
    • Referral Bonus: CHF 1,000

Payment Terms

• The referral bonus will be paid out in two installments:
  • 50% after the referred candidate successfully completes their first 3 months of employment.
  • 50% after the referred candidate successfully completes their first 6 months of employment.

Conditions

• The referred candidate must acknowledge the referrer in their application.
• The referrer must be an active employee of SIB at the time of payment.
• The referral must be submitted before the candidate's application.
• There is no limit to the number of referrals an employee can make.
